What makes St. Andrew's distinctive? There are many choices in the McKinney area for places of worship. Why is there a need for another one? What makes St. Andrew's different from the many great churches serving Collin County?

First, we offer sacramental worship with a contemporary feel. Grounded in Anglican tradition, our music will feature the best of new worship songs, blended with the great old hymns of our past. You will hear practical, Biblically based preaching that is lively and engaging. Our worship services, though based in the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer are accessible to the youngest and oldest among us. Most importantly, we want our members to view St. Andrew's as a source of community, encouragement and support.

We have four core values at St. Andrew's they are:

  • Invite - Being in God's presence.
  • Involve - Relationships with God & each other.
  • Instruct - Learning how to live better and more Godly lives.
  • Inspire - Compassion for the people of McKinney and the people in the world God sends us to.

In addition to these core values, we have some BHAG's - "Big Holy Audacious Goals". Here are a few of these BHAG's:

  • To become a spiritual and institutional anchor in the "new" McKinney.
  • To have an extensive network of small groups that meet all over McKinney and Collin county.
  • To have people of all ages involved in the worship, programmatic, and relational life of the church.
  • To be a "teaching church" offering learning and discipleship opportunities for the people of McKinney and the larger church.

Finally, we offer you this vivid description of the church we hope to become. While we are just starting out, we are confident in what God is calling us to, and we believe deeply in the potential of St. Andrew's and what we can accomplish together. If God is calling you to join us, we know that you will play an important part of what He is calling us to do here in the McKinney area. Here then, is a description of the church we are becoming:

We will offer a worship experience that is reverent, uplifting and easy to participate in. Ancient in form, contemporary in method, and timely in message, people will be drawn to and encouraged by our worship. We will offer countless opportunities to participate in the life of our church. We will be a place to make friends, and a place for help in finance, marriage, and parenting. You will be welcomed at St. Andrew's at all the different seasons of life - in springtime to learn about God for the first time; in summer when you are in need of direction; in fall when you need encouragement, rest, or empowerment; and in winter, when you need assurance and a place to share your life's wisdom.
