We take our motto "A Faith for All Ages" seriously. We want our church to be a place of help and blessing to people at all the different stages of life. We especially want to help people succeed in their family life. Here is just a list of the courses and programs we offer each year: - Financial Peace University. One of the biggest areas of stress in any household is finances. As a ministry to the McKinney area, St. Andrew's offers the thirteen week course, "Financial Peace University". Taught by best-selling author Dave Ramsey, Financial Peace University (FPU) is a practical, Biblically based course that will help your family get back on track financially. The course starts with learning how to get on a workable budget and manage cash flow. Sessions are also spent simply educating people on the sometimes complicated aspects of sound financial planning-insurance, mortgages, saving for children's college, retirement planning, and many more. The course is well known for how it has helped people develop a workable plan to get out of debt. For information on FPU, you can log on to www.daveramsey.com/fpu. Our two classes saved over $60,000 and paid off over $110,000 in debt during the class. Our next class starts September 2nd.
- The Marriage Course. The Marriage Course is a series of eight sessions designed to help any married couple strengthen their relationship. It's a great opportunity to spend time together as a couple looking at the important issues in your marriage. The Marriage Course is very practical and will help equip you with the tools needed to build a healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. Each week you are given the opportunity to enjoy a special meal together and listen to a talk. Then there is plenty of time to discuss the topic as a couple. There is no group work involved at any stage of the course. The Marriage Course is now being run in 28 countries. For more information, log on to www.themarriagecourse.org. Our next Marriage Course will be in early 2009.
- The Marriage Preparation Course. Run with a similar format to The Marriage Course, this course helps engaged couples get the tools they need for healthy communication, conflict resolution, and relationship maintenance. You can learn more about this course at www.themarriagecourse.org/preparation. This course is required for each couple about to be married through the church.
- Parenting. An important aspect of our children's ministry is to be a support for the parents and guardians of our children. We will offer many parenting classes and support groups for parents at all different stages of their child's development. Each year, we will celebrate with a special "Back to School Sunday". In addition to praying for students and teachers, we offer seminars on how to work with teachers for your child's educational success.
